R&H Suburb Profile LAURIETON

Laurieton is a coastal town on the NSW mid-north coast, the largest in the Camden Haven district. It is 365km north of Sydney and 42km south of Port Macquarie.

Laurieton is peaceful, attractive and under-developed. It is one of several towns that make up the Camden Haven, including North Haven, Dunbogan, Bonny Hills, Kew, Kendall and Comboyne. Each of these towns and villages lies adjacent to the Camden Haven River.

The local area has three significant mountains called ‘The Brothers’, as named by Captain Cook in 1770. There is South, Middle and North Brother. Laurieton lies at the base of North Brother Mountain and at the mouth of the Camden Haven River. This provides a delightful setting of lagoons and waterways with views of bushland and the coast.

Laurieton has a large number of restaurants, cafes and gift shops, as well as natural attractions and pastimes including fishing.

The largest school in the district, Camden Haven High School, is about 5km from Laurieton's business centre. St Joseph's, Laurieton is the local Catholic primary school.

There are hospitals in Port Macquarie, Wauchope and Taree.
