Huskisson is a small town in NSW on the shores of Jervis Bay, 24km south-east of Nowra in the Shoalhaven region. It is a prime tourist destination, with white beaches and crystal blue waters.
Fishing and tourism are Huskisson’s main industries. There are also modern licensed clubs, restaurants, a comprehensive shopping centre, the famous Husky Pub and a wide range of services.
Popular activities include fishing, diving, sailing and surfing as well as hire and charter boats. There is also a cinema, bowls, golf and tennis as well as dolphin, whale and seal watching.
Other attractions within walking distance include an interesting antique and second hand shop that doubles as a tourist centre, a 50m sea pool filled with salt water from Jervis Bay, the Lady Denman Museum offering Koori crafts and exhibitions, local historical displays, the Wirreecoo walking trail, a mangrove boardwalk and a BBQ and picnic area with excellent amenities.
There is also bushwalking both locally and in the nearby Booderee National Park, beach walking, lazing in the sun, bird watching, golf at two local clubs, lawn bowls, and mountain bike riding and cycling.
Down the road there is a leisure centre with a heated pool and 40m waterslide, as well as a gym.
Huskisson is served by hospitals located in Nowra.
